VAGINAL BLEEDING AFTER SEX
Saba® makes you feel #CómodaContigo.
Periods are not the only reason we bleed. We can also bleed after having sex. Yes, you read that right. It’s not entirely normal but, it’s common for multiple reasons. Keep reading to learn more:
Birth control pills
One of the most common causes of bleeding after sex is the pill. This is more common when you first start to use this birth control because your body takes some time to get used to it.
STD
Bleeding after having sex can also be a symptom of inflammation of the cervix, which can become really irritated and can bleed with penetration. Some STDs with this symptom are chlamydia and gonorrhea.
Vaginal infection
Vaginal infections are extremely common, 3 out of 4 women have experienced them. Fungus and bacteria can swell and irritate the vagina and bleeding can occur after intercourse. This is not a common symptom, but it can happen if the infection was mistreated or is really intense.
Vaginal dryness
If when you’re having sex your vagina isn’t lubricated, there’s a possibility of bleeding because friction can tear the vagina. If you suspect that was the case we recommend you go to your doctor ASAP to make sure it’s nothing else.
Pregnancy
At the beginning of a pregnancy, small spotting can happen while having sex. The only way to know if you’re pregnant is to do a pregnancy test.
Abundant bleeding is never normal after having sex (unless you’re on your period). So, if you notice something weird, go to your doctor to make sure everything is ok.
