Risks of Sex Without Protection
Saba® makes you feel #CómodaContigo.
Having sex without a condom always involves taking a risk where your physical health is at stake. Remember that sex is an experience shared with a partner, and there are many risks that come with having sexual relations. Not only is there the risk of an unplanned pregnancy, but also of getting Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).
Unwanted pregnancies and Sexually Transmitted Diseases are becoming increasingly common. STDs are spread from person-to-person only through intimate contact - including vaginal, anal, and oral sex. Having sex at a young age and getting pregnant can be risky, simply because your body is not yet fully prepared for it.
Some of the Sexually Transmitted Diseases that are spread by having sex without a condom are:
Genital herpes: A disease caused by a virus that is difficult to cure. It manifests as small sores filled with clear fluid around the sexual organs and groin. It is painful and flare-ups can occur even years after you get it. It reduces your quality of life for a long time. Symptoms usually manifest in women over the age of 30.
Human Papilloma Virus (HPV): This virus can manifest in several ways. Some cancerous variants of HPV can be asymptomatic. The symptomatic kind of HPV can be painful. There is no cure for HPV, only treatments to help manage symptoms. Symptoms can include the appearance of warts in the pubic area and surrounding tissues, which can cause discomfort and can only be treated topically.
Pubic Lice: It’s a louse that lives in the pubic hair area, and causes intense and unpleasant itching. Its eradication is simple: just use a product meant to get rid of lice.
Syphilis: A bacterial infection that presents in the primary stage as a white, hard, and painless sore in the area where the sexual contact has occurred (usually the genitals, tongue, or lips). In its primary stage, it can be easily cured with antibiotics. In its later stages, it can cause very serious symptoms and health complications.
Remember that the only way to prevent these diseases or unwanted pregnancy is with the use of a condom and engaging in safe sex practices. If you have been sexually active, it is very important that you visit your doctor to get tested for STDs to avoid any discomfort or health complications.
